Arsenal and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Arsenal are unbeaten at home this season and have won four of their last five at the Emirates. Sevilla have only won one of their last eight matches but have scored in 14 of their 16 fixtures this season, so they should at least get on the scoresheet against a Gunners defence that have conceded in four of their last five games.

Arsenal 2-1

Reason for tip

Sevilla have scored exactly one goal in three of their last five games and lost 2-1 at home to Arsenal last month, while the visitors have scored twice or more in nine of their last 16 matches.

Arsenal vs Sevilla Predictions

  • Arsenal have won four of their last five home games.
  • Sevilla have scored in 14 of their 16 competitive fixtures this season.
  • Sevilla have only won one of their last eight matches.

Gunners look to bounce back

Arsenal sank to their second successive defeat in controversial circumstances at Newcastle but they should be able to bounce back and consolidate top spot in Champions League Group B when they face a struggling Sevilla.

All three of the Gunners’ defeats this season have come away from home so, while they have won five and drawn two of their seven home outings. That puts them in good stead when they host a Sevilla side who’s only victory in their last eight games came against minnows Quintanar in the Copa del Rey.

Expect goals in London

Mikel Arteta was left seething after Newcastle’s controversial winner on Saturday and will have his side riled up for Wednesday’s clash, but the Gunners defence remains surprisingly leaky.

They have just one clean sheet in their last five games and have conceded seven goals in this period. Sevilla, sitting 14th in La Liga and bottom of Group B, may be struggling but they have plenty of attacking quality and could trouble Arsenal’s defence.

Los Nervionenses have scored in 14 of their 16 competitive games this season and found the net when they hosted Arsenal in Seville last month. Backing Arsenal to win and both teams to score appeals, while a repeat of the 2-1 triumph Arteta oversaw in Spain could be on the cards.
