      Arsenal vs Stoke Predictions

Arsenal fans were out for the board and manager’s head after their opening day 3-0 defeat at home to West Ham, but they have begun redeeming themselves with some positive results.

They followed their opening day defeat up with 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace, and then played out a thrilling goalless draw with Liverpool.

Their last match before the international break was a 1-0 victory over Newcastle, but despite the positive results there are still concerns about their performance. This has only been worsened by their lack of activity in the transfer market.

These results leave them in 7th position in the league with seven points from their opening four games.

Danny Welbeck’s injury condition has worsened in the past week and he’s now expected to be out for longer, and Tomas Rosicky and Jack Wilshere are both still struggling for fitness.

Stoke will be missing Charlie Adam and Ibrahim Afellay due to suspension after their red cards against West Brom. Peter Odemwingie and Ryan Shawcross are still sidelined with injury as well.

Despite Mark Hughes bringing in some big European names this summer, Stoke have failed to get their their new attacking talents to gel.

The likes of Xherdan Shaqiri, Ibrahim Afellay, Joselu, and Marko Arnautovic are undoubtedly good players, and joining other talented squad members such as Mame Biram Diouf and Bojan.

However, they haven’t managed to gel yet, and as such have only managed to score three times in their opening four games.

This has left them winless, with two draws and two losses taking their points tally to two after four games.

This is historically a high scoring fixture, and with Stoke increasing their attacking threat even more I would expect the same from this match. I think Arsenal will win though, and odds of 5/6 for Arsenal to Win and Over 2.5 Goals look like fair odds to me.
