Atalanta vs Juventus Predictions
Atalanta had a good first few weeks of the season but in recent months they have been steadily slipping down the Serie A table. Currently on a run of 12 league games without a win, they should still stay up but need to get points on the board soon to avoid dropping into a relegation dogfight. The visit of Juventus could not come at a worse time for Edoardo Reja’s side, who have lost 11 meetings in a row to the defending champions. Atalanta have failed to score in three of their last six games and with Juventus so solid at the back it would be no surprise if that run became four blanks in seven matches.
Juventus are having an odd period after their long Serie A winning streak came to an end with a 0-0 draw at Bologna. A 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich in the Champions League was creditable, especially after falling 2-0 behind, while a 2-0 home win against Inter asserted themselves as the clear league leaders. But when Massimiliano Allegri rotated his squad for a Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Inter in midweek he was almost left embarrassed. His side had a 3-0 lead from the first leg but needed penalties to squeeze through to the final. Juventus will therefore be out to prove a point and with stars such as Paulo Dybala likely to return to the starting lineup they could rack up a big score at Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia.
Juve have kept eight clean sheets in a row, so we are tipping Juventus to win to nil at 11/10 with bet365. Although their last five league games have all featured under 2.5 goals we are predicting Dybala and Co will buck that trend by running out heavy winners against Atalanta, with 20/1 on a 4-0 win particularly tempting.
