Hosts to make ground on title-chasing Napoli

Atalanta look the best bet when they host Napoli on Sunday, having enjoyed four straight Serie A successes at the Gewiss Stadium.

Napoli are third in Serie A, four places and eight points above Atalanta, with both teams having won more games than they’ve lost this season. Napoli have won 15 and Atalanta 11 of their 25 games.

Atalanta maintained their winning habit with a 2-0 victory away to Lazio last weekend. Ederson opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 41st minute, and Atalanta doubled their lead on the hour, beating the 11/10 odds with something to spare.

Scoring has not been an issue for Atalanta lately. They have found the net at least twice in five of their last seven Serie A games.

Atalanta have been impressive defensively at home this season, conceding just 10 goals in 13 Serie A games – an average of 0.77 goals per game. They have kept clean sheets in three of their last four on home soil.

Atalanta are on a roll at home. They have won six of their last seven Serie A games in front of their own fans, with their only defeat during that run coming against Inter in December.

Napoli have been unable to keep their opponents at bay in four straight Serie A games and have failed to keep a clean sheet in six of their last eight matches.

A narrow 1-0 win for Atalanta looks the most likely outcome in the correct-score market. Eight of their last ten Serie A games have ended with at least one side failing to score, and two of Napoli’s five defeats this season have come by a 1-0 scoreline.
