      Under 2.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

Lecce were among Serie A’s lowest scorers last season and they have failed to net in three of their four games this term. With 13 of the last 15 head-to-heads between this pair featuring no more than two goals, another low-scoring contest is expected.

      Draw 1-1

      Reason for tip

Four of the six previous Serie A meetings between these sides have been drawn, three of which have finished 1-1. Monza also earned a 1-1 draw in their last match on the road at Parma and history could repeat itself on Sunday.

      Lecce vs Monza Predictions

      • Lecce have failed to score in three of their four matches this season
      • Monza are winless in their last eight meetings with Lecce
      • Fewer than three goals have been scored in 13 of the last 15 head-to-heads

      Lecce’s goalscoring issues remain

A low-scoring clash is expected between two sides that could be battling against each other for Serie A survival this season, with Lecce welcoming Monza to Stadio Via del mare on Sunday.

Lecce were among the lowest scorers in last season’s Italian top flight, netting just 28 goals in 38 games, and they have continued in the same manner this term, failing to notch in three of their four matches across all competitions.

Monza’s last two games have gone under the 2.5 goal mark and solidity at the back could be key for them this term, as they boasted the second-best defensive record in Serie B last season.

      Low-scoring draw in the offing

Lecce have tended to have the better of recent meetings with Monza, as they are unbeaten in the last eight head-to-heads, with Sunday’s visitors having never beaten their hosts in a Serie A match.

However, four of those six top-flight encounters have ended all-square, three of which have finished 1-1, and it is hard to pick a winner between two teams that look evenly matched on paper.

Instead, it could be worth siding with under 2.5 goals, as that would have been a winning bet in 13 of the last 15 meetings between the pair and neither side have shown enough attacking quality so far this season to suggest that trend will be bucked on Sunday.
