Back both teams to score at Q2 Stadium

Both teams to score has been a trend in New England Revolution’s recent outings and that looks the best bet when they visit Austin FC at Q2 Stadium on Sunday. The visitors have scored in seven of their last eight MLS games.

New England Revolution have achieved 24 points from their 20 games this season, recording six wins, six draws and eight losses. Austin FC are just ahead of them in the standings with 26 points, having won seven times, drawn five and lost eight.

Austin FC’s recent form has been inconsistent, with two wins, two draws and two defeats in their last six games, but they have avoided defeat in seven of their last eight home games. New England Revolution are finding life tough, having lost four of their last five MLS matches.

New England Revolution lost 2-1 to Inter Miami on Thursday, conceding the opening goal for the third game running. They have now lost six of the eight games this season in which they’ve shipped the first goal (75%). The defeat is the fourth successive game where BTTS landed.

The Revs should get a goal here. They have scored in four consecutive MLS games, including in a 3-3 draw with Colorado Rapids two weeks ago.

Four of New England Revolution’s last five away games in MLS have ended with both teams scoring and that is worth considering again here.

Both teams have had their defensive struggles of late. Austin FC have failed to keep a clean sheet in nine of their last 11 MLS games, while New England Revolution have been unable to keep their opponents at bay in five straight matches.

Austin FC may be able to edge out New England Revolution in a closely-fought game, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. Both teams have scored in six of New England’s last eight MLS games and six of Austin’s seven victories this season have been by one goal.
