Can Avai back-up a win?

Avai ended a five match winless streak by beating Botafogo 1-0 last time out, the first time they had kept a clean sheet in seven after six successive games saw both teams score.

Eduardo Barroca, who took charge in February, have seen his side fail to score in just two of their last 11 games, while they have also netted in each of their nine home games since his arrival.

The new boss has also made Avai tough to beat at home; they have suffered just one league defeat at Ressacada, with the overall record reading five wins, two draws and two defeats.

Fortaleza improving

Fortaleza may be bottom of the table with just 11 points from seven games, but they head into this fixture unbeaten in three, that courtesy of a 2-1 win at Flamengo and back-to-back draws.

Both teams have scored in four of their last six, while they have kept only one clean sheet in Serie A, that despite conceding just 13 goals all season.

Juan Pablo Vojvoda’s side have been winning plenty of games on the road though, picking up four victories in their last five in all competitions, three of which saw both teams score.

I predict that both teams will score in this game, but I do think Fortaleza are beginning to find their feet, so a 2-1 away win is my correct score prediction.
