Ayr United vs Stranraer Betting Tips & Predictions

A dramatic finale to the first leg of this Scottish League One playoff final has set this game up perfectly. Stranraer had gone a goal up early in the second half at home to Ayr United, but the visitors scored a 95th minute equaliser, which means that they now go into the second leg with everything to play for.

Ayr United have won four, lost one, and drawn one of their last six matches, a run of results which saw them secure 2nd position in League One and then dispatch of Peterhead in the playoff semi finals with a 6-2 aggregate win over them.

Stranraer’s playoff semi final was a little more dramatic. They finished the season in 4th position, meaning that their semi final would be against the 9th placed finisher in the Scottish Championship. Livingston visited Stranraer first and came away on the end of a 5-2 thrashing in the first leg and it looked like the tie was over. It almost was over when Stranraer led 64 on aggregate going into the final minute of normal time, but two dramatic goals from Livingston sent the game to extra time. Stranraer bounced back from this shock with two extra time goals to finish the tie 8-6 up on aggregate.

This made it four wins, two defeats, and a draw for Stranraer in their last seven outings, but considering their scoring record against Livingston they will feel confident that they have what it takes to get a win on Sunday.

Ayr United aren’t bad in front of goal either though. They have scored 18 goals in their last 11 home matches and seen at least three scored in nine of those 11 games. Stranraer.
