Both teams to play part in thriller

Both teams have scored in all five of Basel’s games this season and a repeat of that is fancied when they host Copenhagen in the first leg of their Champions League play-off.

After doing the league and cup double last season, the Swiss side have had a slow start to the current campaign, losing twice in their first four league games.

They did boost their confidence with a 6-1 hammering of lower league Biel in the cup at the weekend but they face a tough challenge against Copenhagen, who beat Malmo 5-0 in their last Champions League qualifier.

The Danes currently top the table domestically after winning four of their five league games and have the better pedigree in this competition recently, reaching the last 16 two seasons ago.

Basel have not qualified for the group stages since 2018 so will be desperate for a big performance on home soil.

Their defensive performances as of late make them hard to have utmost faith in here however, particularly as Copenhagen have won seven of their nine games in all competitions this term.

Take both teams to score but correct score backers may want to side with a 2-2 draw in what could be an entertaining clash.
