Bayer Leverkusen eye a place in the last eight

After remarkably overcoming a 3-2 first-leg deficit to progress past the in-form Monaco, Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen face an arguably much easier task on paper here as they welcome Hungarian side, Ferencvaros.

Leverkusen head into this with the confidence gained from a 4-1 victory over Hertha Berlin last time out in the league, yet winning this competition looks to be their only realistic route back into the Champions League next season, so don’t expect the Eternal Bridesmaids to hold anything back here.

Trying to spoil the party will be Ferencvaros, a side who have already made history by progressing from a European group stage for the very first time.
