Bayern Munich
    Real Madrid

      Tip Reasoning

Both sides won their Semi-Finals fairly comfortably on Tuesday to set up the final that most neutrals were hoping for. Real overcame Spurs 2-0 with James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale getting on the scoresheet in the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

The result continued what has been an excellent pre-season for Los Blancos who are unbeaten excluding penalty shoot-outs and can list Inter and Manchester City among their scalps. A win on Wednesday would be the biggest of them all and they have fond memories of their last visit to the Allianz Arena. They won 4-0 at the ground in the 2014 Champions League Semi-Finals as Ancelotti’s side went onto to win the trophy for the 10th time.

They headed to Bavaria this week under new management though with Rafa Benitez looking to use pre-season to stamp his mark on the side. This will be by far his toughest test yet though against a Bayern side that cruised to a 3-0 win over Milan on Tuesday.

Juan Bernat and Mario Gotze had already put the Germans in control when substitute Robert Lewandowski grabbed a third goal. Ominously for Madrid, Bayern can call the Pole into the starting line-up for the final along with Manuel Neuer, David Alaba, Xabi Alonso and Thomas Muller, all of whom had to be content with a place on the bench in the Semi-Final.

Bayern have a DFB Cup game at the weekend but are unlikely to be troubled by minnows FC Nottingen so we can expect a very strong line-up here from them. Real named close to the strongest side available to them for the Spurs game so Benitez will face a tough choice here between fielding a few tired legs or opting to give some of their younger players a run-out.

Either way you have to fancy Bayern to win in front of a big home crowd and in any case they should be the fitter of the two sides given their season has already started. They look like decent value to win this one at Evens.
