Belgium hoping to keep strong competitive record going

This is only the second time Belgium have qualified for the European Championships, but they are certainly a country on the up, as displayed by their run of just one defeat in 13 competitive games.

Ives Serneels’ side have an impressive record in front of goal, reaching the tournament after netting 37 goals in eight matches, although nearly half of them came in a 19-0 thrashing of Armenia.

They have failed to score in just five of their last 16 outings, but both teams have netted in three of the last five, and that defence will surely be in for another stern test.

Iceland looking to make history

Iceland, like Belgium, had a pre-tournament price of around 100/1 to win Euro 2022, so it would be a huge shock if they made it anywhere near the final.

They are another improving nation though, with their only defeat in ten outings coming in the SheBelieves Cup against the mighty USA.

Þorsteinn Halldórsson’s side have won the other nine of those games, while they failing to score in just three of their last 17 outings.
