Birmingham vs Peterborough Predictions

• Peterborough have lost 12 of 13 Championship away games this term, including their last six.
• Posh were totally dominated by West Brom in Saturday, finishing with a pitiful xG of 0.05.

Posh’s relegation plight unlikely to ease 

Tuesday’s rearranged Championship fixture between Birmingham City and Peterborough looks like a straightforward home win based on the recent form of both protagonists.

The Blues have won four of their last seven at St Andrew’s and moved 12 points clear of the relegation zone after their 2-1 home win over Barnsley on Saturday. Posh, by contrast, continue to look lost on their travels with Saturday’s 3-0 loss at the Hawthorns surely being one of the most abject by any away side in the Championship this season.

Darren Ferguson’s side were out-shot 14 to one by the Baggies and their lone effort, which was off target, helped them achieve a pitiful xG of 0.05 on the day. That was the third time this season that Posh had produced an xG lower than 0.25 in a game and all have been away from London Road.

Home win odds good enough to take 

So it would seem foolish to expect them to anything but lose on Tuesday unless something dramatic changes about the way they set-up and perform on the road. They might be able to get a goal with a bit of luck as their hosts have conceded in seven of their last eight on home turf, so we will venture a 2-1 correct score bet here rather than the obvious Birmingham win to nil.

That option may prove tempting for some in terms of the main selection because Posh have failed to score in nine of their 13 away games this season, but we are happy to take the odds of around evens for the simple home win.
