FC Porto to Win and Over 1.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Bodo/Glimt lost 4-1 at Brann last weekend, which is not the best of results to come off as they prepare to face Porto. The Dragons have won five of their last six games with at least two goals in each and should prevail in Norway with another couple of goals scored.

FC Porto 2-1

Reason for tip

Porto have kept four clean sheets out of six in Portugal this season, but face a difficult test on an artificial surface which could enable the home side to trouble their solid defence. Bodo/Glimt have scored in all 15 home games this season and should get on the scoresheet, but Porto can plunder two against a team that shipped four at Brann last weekend.

Bodo Glimt vs FC Porto Predictions

  • Porto have won five of their last six games with at least two goals in each
  • Samu Omorodion has scored three goals in his last two appearances for Porto

Dragons unlikely to be downed in Norway

Porto pit their wits against Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt in their first game of the new-look Europa League on Wednesday and the Dragons should be capable of pinching all three points.

Vitor Bruno’s team won 3-0 at Vitoria Guimaraes last weekend to make it five wins from their opening six games in the Primeira Liga with their only loss coming against a well-drilled Sporting side.

Porto will take a strong squad to Notway for the clash with only defender Ivan Marcano, full-back Zaidu Sanusi and attacking midfielder Fábio Vieira absent through fitness issues. The Dragons have been bedding in a couple of new signings with Spanish striker Samu Omorodion and Argentinean defender Nehuen Perez settling in at opposite ends of the pitch.

Omorodion could be the key to victory

Omorodion has hit three goals in his last two games and looks a standout candidate to score at anytime against a club that shipped four to their nearest title rivals last weekend.

Bodo/Glimt remain seven points clear at the Eliteserien summit, but losing 4-1 at Brann was not the best way to prepare for this clash with Porto. The match was practically over by half-time as Brann led 3-0 before Philip Zinckernagel pulled one back but the Bergen outfit had the final word in stoppage time.

Porto can overcome any issues with the artificial pitch thanks to their ability to play direct football to Omorodion and their backline is technical enough to avoid any mistakes on the surface.
