Bolivia vs Paraguay Predictions

  • Paraguay have won three of the last five meetings (D1, L1) including a 3-1 success in the Copa America earlier this year.
  • Los Guaranies have lost just three of their 11 matches in the campaign, although six of those have ended level.
  • Bolivia have won just two of their 11 qualifiers, losing six.

Sides’ recent meeting hard to ignore

The statistics suggest Paraguay are going to struggle in La Paz this Friday, but Los Guaranies bossed Bolivia in the Copa America during the summer and look worth siding with in the draw no bet market on Matchday 12.

Eduardo Berizzo’s charges dominated the sides’ group stage clash in Brazil to land a 3-1 victory, and that contest has to take prominence when assessing this fixture, even though the Bolivians have the benefit of home advantage this week.

It’s fair to say that La Verde are a completely different proposition in La Paz compared to on their travels, where they’ve managed to pick up just two points from a possible 18 in qualifying. On home turf, Cesar Farias’ charges have collected seven points from five matches, including a 1-0 triumph over Peru here at the weekend.

Paraguay have performed poorly outside of Asuncion with just five points claimed from their five away trips, and Los Guaranies have struggled for goals throughout the campaign, netting just twice on foreign soil and nine times overall.

Los Guaranies can edge matters in La Paz

But in addition to the teams’ most recent encounter, the visitors have lost just three from 11 in the campaign (W2, D6) and will view this tie as a great opportunity to boost their win tally, with Bolivia widely regarded as one of the two worst nations in South America at present, alongside Venezuela.

Paraguay will be going all out for the victory as they need to close the gap between themselves and fifth placed Colombia, and Berizzo’s side are too big in the betting at 12/5.

We’re inclined to take some insurance via the draw no bet market considering Paraguay’s high number of stalemates in qualifying, but we’re confident that the visitors can replicate their summer success over La Verde, though via a closer 2-1 score-line this time around.
