Bologna vs Napoli Predictions

Champions in need of a boost

Napoli began their Scudetto defence with back-to-back wins but have just one point to show from their last two games and will be looking to get back to winning ways when they head to Bologna on Sunday.

The Partenopei did claim a 2-1 Champions League win at Braga in midweek with a strong performance and look well placed to overcome Bologna, but a clean sheet could be beyond the visitors.

Bologna can grab a goal

Bologna scored twice in a 2-2 draw with Napoli in the corresponding fixture towards the end of last season and can get on the scoresheet even if they miss out on the points.

I Rossoblù have scored in five of their last seven home games stretching back into last season, hitting 11 goals in total, and are facing a Napoli defence who have conceded in four of their five games this season.

However, Napoli appeared to click into gear at Braga and can follow up their European win with three Serie A points on Sunday.

A 2-1 win for Napoli is the correct score prediction as Bologna have competed well against Italy’s big guns this season, holding Juventus to a 1-1 draw and losing 2-0 to AC Milan. Since a 6-1 hammering at the hands of Inter Milan in November, Bologna have only conceded more than twice in one of their last 30 games so Napoli are unlikely to win by a big margin.

Victor Osimhen hit three goals in his first two games this term but hasn’t scored in Serie A since. The Nigerian did manage to impress against Braga despite failing to score and registered an assist, and he can get back among the goals against a side he scored three times against across two fixtures last season.
