Bordeaux defensive woes

After managing just two victories in the opening 16 matchdays, Bordeaux are looking perilously at Ligue 2 football next season as they occupy the relegation playoff spot. They just can’t stop conceding goals. They’ve not kept a clean sheet in any of their last 20 matches and their 37 goals conceded is the second-worst across the top five European leagues. If something doesn’t change soon, they could be celebrating their 140th anniversary with relegation.

Things aren’t all rosy for Lyon either, they currently occupy tenth place and that’s well below what’s expected of them. Their last game essentially summed up their season, conceding a last-minute goal to lose at home to lowly Reims. They also have a pretty poor away record, claiming just two wins in their seven away league trips so far this season.
