Boreham Wood vs Leyton Orient Predictions

It has been a difficult few years for Leyton Orient as they fell out of the Football League for the first time in their long history, but the early signs of their performances this season suggests that they are back on the up and could be strong enough to win promotion come the end of the campaign. This weekend they play in front of the BT Sport cameras as they look to continue their charge for promotion when they make the trip to Meadow Park to face off against out of form Boreham Wood.

Despite a solid start to the season which would have raised hopes of a promotion push of their own, Boreham Wood have gone off the boil of late. Wood have failed to win in any of their previous five league matches and although they have not be known for being one of the division’s top scorers anyway, the fact that they have managed to find the back of the net just twice in those five outings will be a major reason for them picking up just nine points in the last eight games.

The story could not be more different for their visitors as Leyton Orient are at the summit of the league and looking near invincible at the level so far this season. The O’s have scored plenty of goals but it is in defence where they really shine. The visitors boast the best defensive record in the National League with just 13 goals conceded in their 23 games and with this sort of defensive steel, it is easy to see how they have recorded an impressive 25 goals from their last 11 matches.

With the form of these two sides going into this meeting, it should come as little surprise that we expect the visitors to come out on top in this one. Although there are healthy odds available for this, we think that the goal scoring woes of the hosts combined with the defensive capabilities of Orient means that there is further opportunity for profit. Given that at least one of the teams has failed to score in each of the three previous meetings between these sides, we think that backing Leyton Orient to win to nil is an excellent opportunity for those of you looking for an increased return.
