Borussia Dortmund/Borussia Dortmund

Reason for tip

Borussia Dortmund have put themselves back in contention for a top-four finish after avoiding defeat in five straight league games, winning four times and drawing with Bayern Munich in that run. BVB have also won their last three in all competitions and given they have led at half-time in each of their last five victories, they look set to dominate from start to finish against bottom-half Wolfsburg.

Borussia Dortmund 3-0

Reason for tip

Wolfsburg are without a win in seven and may struggle to find any joy at Signal Iduna Park. Clean sheets have not been easy to come by for Dortmund but, facing a demotivated side who have blanked in four of their last six games, they may finally achieve one on Saturday.

Borussia Dortmund vs Wolfsburg Predictions

  • Borussia Dortmund have won their last three games, achieving three straight victories for the first time this season
  • Wolfsburg are without a win in seven, losing five times in that run
  • Dortmund have won 11 of their last 13 Bundesliga meetings between this pair

Dortmund destined for fourth straight win

It took a while for Niko Kovac to get going at Borussia Dortmund but the Croatian is finally getting a tune out of a side who started the season in terrible fashion under Nuri Sahin.

A run of five Bundesliga matches without a defeat has seen them win four games, draw 2-2 with champions elect Bayern Munich and jump up to sixth in the table, entering the weekend sitting just three points off the top four.

Most importantly, Dortmund have been banging in the goals recently, netting 15 across their last five Bundesliga matches and also beating Barcelona 3-1 in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final.

Back Borussia to cruise past Wolfsburg

In contrast, Wolfsburg cannot buy a win. The Wolves are without a victory in seven, losing five times in that run, and are now mired in the bottom half and playing for nothing of note in their final three games.

With Dortmund coming off the back of three straight wins in all competitions – a feat they had not achieved since May last year – they are worthy favourites against a faltering Wolfsburg, and they may not waste any time in securing three points.

BVB have led at half-time in each of their last five wins and should dominate from start to finish against the Wolves, who have lost 11 of the last 13 Bundesliga head-to-heads.
