Brest vs Lille Predictions

• Lille have won six of their last seven matches with five clean sheets along the way.
• Since the end of January, Lille have created the second most chances and conceded the least.
• Brest have failed to score in four of their last seven games.

Lille On A Rampage Towards The Podium

Lille haven’t been without their critics this season but it seems as if the team is finally banding together with a settled starting eleven and collective objective: finish in the top three. Les Dogues went through a bit of a slump in late January but a recent shake-up in mentality has raised the levels of the entire team and they are reaping the rewards as a result.  

Christophe Galtier’s men got their sixth win in seven matches last week as they put in a terrific performance to beat Lyon 1-0. It was a great win over an in-form Lyon side and they’ll be looking to recreate that type of display here against Brest. Lille’s defence has been much better in recent weeks with five clean sheets in their last six games allowing the team as a whole to take better control of matches. Since the start of February, Lille have created the second most chances and conceded the least, which won’t make good reading for Brest fans.

Brest Hitting A Slump

Brest were on a solid run of four games unbeaten over February but have hit a bit of a slump with back-to-back defeats dampening that confidence. Les Ty’Zefs have won just one of their last seven games with the likes of Angers and Dijon being able to take three points off them in this time. They’ve conceded ten goals and netted six in reply but will have to really improve those numbers if they want to take anything from this game. 

Les Ty’Zefs have generally been pretty dangerous going forward but didn’t offer much in their last two matches as they both ended 1-0. Brest will be the hosts for this one which should give them a bit more stability though. At the Stade Francis-le-Blé they have been imperious this season with their defeat to Angers a few weeks ago their first loss at home since November. 

They’ve lost just two home games this season and had won four of the six games previous to the Angers defeat. This form will be what they’ll be looking to get back to and they should be pretty confident of that given their incredible home form. 

The Visitors To Keep Up Their Momentum?

Even though Brest have been good at home this season, Angers proved a few weeks ago that they are far from unbeatable and with Lille a much better side we’re backing them for the victory here. Lille won 1-0 when these teams met earlier in the season and we’re going for the same scoreline here.
