Burton can claim local bragging rights

Burton are worth backing to win their Staffordshire derby with Port Vale at the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday. The hosts beat Mansfield 2-1 in their first home fixture and can double up against another local rival.

Burton finished 20th in League One last season, while Port Vale were promoted from League Two.

The Brewers were stunned 3-2 by Barnsley in their last League One game last weekend, having led 2-0, but they have lost just one of their last six League One home games.

Vale, meanwhile, have claimed just one point from their opening two matches and could be facing a battle to avoid an immediate return to the fourth tier.

Burton may be able to edge out Port Vale in a closely-fought game, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. Nine of Burton’s last 11 League One games have produced over 2.5 goals, and they have won two of their last three league games 2-1.
