Cardiff vs QPR Predictions

  • Cardiff have failed to win eight of their last ten home Championship matches.
  • QPR have avoided defeat in seven of their last 11 away league contests.
  • QPR got their first win in seven last Saturday in the first game under new boss Neil Critchley.

R’s giving off good vibes again

QPR secured an eye-catching away win at Preston last weekend and Neil Critchley’s side could follow that up by avoiding defeat when they hit the road again to face Cardiff. The R’s 1-0 victory at Deepdale was their first in seven games and halted a dismal run that had seen them fall from the top of the table to outside the play-off places.

The positive vibes appear to be returning to the club and, although they were pushed back late on by Preston’s pressure, QPR demonstrated some resilience in holding on to the lead against a side that had won four of their last five games.

Cardiff, who were held at home by Blackpool last weekend, have nothing like the record of the Lilywhites and appear vulnerable to a similar result this weekend.  The Bluebirds have won only two of their last ten and are similarly sloppy at home, where their only wins since August have been two squeaky 1-0s against Rotherham and Blackburn – two teams with pretty poor away records.

QPR to benefit from new boss bounce factor

Taking Rangers to avoid defeat in Wales seems like the way to go as they have lost only four of their last 11 away league games. There could be a bounce factor to ride from Critchley’s appointment and, from some of the players’ post-match comments, the squad seem like they are happy with the new broom so far.

Both teams are averaging either just under or just over one goal per game scored and conceded in their respective home and away sequences this term, leading to a 1-1 correct score prediction.
