Coventry should be backed to beat QPR at the CBS Arena on Saturday. Frank Lampard’s side have been winners in seven of their last nine Championship home games.

Coventry finished fifth last season, 13 points ahead of QPR, before falling short in the playoff semi-finals. The hosts won 20 games, while the visitors achieved 14 wins.

Coventry beat Derby 5-3 away in their last Championship game last weekend, with Bobby Thomas scoring the opener in the seventh minute and four others also finding the net. This was expected to be a close match according to the pre-game betting, but Coventry were comfortable winners at odds of 7/5.

QPR, meanwhile, claimed a point in their opener against Preston but slumped to a 2-1 loss at Watford last weekend.

Lampard’s men have kept five clean sheets in their last six Championship home games.
Coventry have lost just one of their last nine Championship home games, winning seven of those matches.

A narrow 1-0 win for Coventry looks the most likely outcome. Six of their last eight Championship games have stayed under 2.5 goals and they were 1-0 winners against QPR last time they met in the league.
