Crawley Town vs Morecambe Predictions

With Morecambe bottom of League Two, you might have imagined that the pressure would be on the boss, Jim Bentley, to save his job. However, the Shrimps had the longest-serving manager in England’s top four divisions before the news broke of his resignation to join AFC Fylde in the National League. This weekend, new boss Derek Adams sees his side make the trip to Crawley Town in League Two.

Crawley have not exactly been the form team in League Two of late and with just one win in their last eight league matches, it is no surprise to see them well down the league table. The hosts have only failed to score in 6% of their home matches but they concede on a regular basis and know that this will have to be improved if they are to start climbing the table.

Bentley had been Shrimps boss since May 2011, having previously spent nine years with the club as a player, and he leaves behind a club that he had guided to safety in League Two against the odds time and time again. However, this season Morecambe have not exactly had the best of starts and, although they are far from out of touch, they will need to pick up their form if they are to defy the odds once again.

Neither of these sides are particularly reliable for the win given their poor form, so the win-draw-win market looks like one to be avoided. However, when you consider that both teams have scored in seven of Crawley’s last eight league matches and 76% of their league matches in total, and factor in the fact that Morecambe have scored in three of their last four league matches, then backing both teams to score is the way to go.
