Crystal Palace and Both Teams To Score

Crystal Palace vs Sunderland Predictions
- Four of the last six Premier League meetings between these sides have seen both teams find the net
- Crystal Palace have not lost in nine Premier League games
- Jean-Phillipe Mateta has scored 30 Premier League goals across the last two full seasons
Decent start for Black Cats
More than eight years have passed since Sunderland recorded a 4-0 win at Selhurst Park, one of just six wins as they finished bottom of the Premier League table and the pair have had very different paths over that period of time since that win.
Crystal Palace have been a continual presence in the Premier League since then and won the FA Cup to secure European football for this season.
Sunderland on the other hand dropped all the way down to League One before rising back through the levels.
The Black Cats have had a solid start to their return to the top flight, winning two of their opening three games, but they have been looked upon kindly by the fixture list with home wins over strugglers West Ham and Brentford.
Eagles can ride tricky transfer window
A trip to take on Crystal Palace is a much tougher assignment, the Eagles are unbeaten in their five games this season and were in dominant form as they beat Aston Villa 3-0 last time out.
Oliver Glasner’s men were also unlucky not to beat Chelsea in the season opener after seeing a goal ruled out in controversial circumstances.
Palace had an eventful deadline day as captain Marc Guehi appeared set to move to Liverpool before the deal collapsed at the last minute with the Eagles unable to secure a replacement.
That is a big boost to their chances of a good campaign, although it means that they may well lose Guehi for cheap, his contract runs out next summer.
Yeremy Pino is a seriously impressive signing however, although he does have big shoes to fill following Eberechi Eze’s departure.
Mateta key for hosts
Sunderland have lost three of their last five away games and look set for another loss on the road, although they may be able to put up a fight.
Regis Le Bris’ men have looked solid going forward recently and they should be able to get on the scoresheet.
Side with both teams to score in a Crystal Palace win, with the hosts fancied to edge what looks likely to be a competitive affair in south London.
Sunderland were 2-1 winners over Brentford last time out but they could be on the end of the same scoreline as they may find their home form difficult to replicate on their travels.
Jean-Philippe Mateta has already scored twice this season, once against Aston Villa last time out and once the crucial goal against Fredrikstad in the Conference League play-off.
The Frenchman is fancied to get on the scoresheet.
