Danes to continue excellent form

Perhaps the biggest surprise package of the U21 European Championships so far has been Denmark. Drawn in a tricky group with France, Russia and Iceland, Denmark breezed through, taking all three games without conceding including an impressive 1-0 win over France.

Germany U21s will be hoping to go one better than their last performance in an U21s European Championship when they were beaten by Spain in the final. But, as the Danes have proved so far they will be very tricky opponents.

Germany were limited to one goal in their final two group games, by Netherlands and Romania respectively after the beat Hungary comfortably 3-0 in the first contest.

Denmark’s strong defensive record and Germany’s somewhat lacklustre group performances mean that Denmark are fancied to continue their good run of form and progress.

With a cagey match likely, 1-0 is the correct score prediction.
