Dundalk vs FC Levadia Tallinn Predictions
BETTING TIP – BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
CORRECT SCORE PREDICTION – 2-2 DRAW
- Dundalk have won five, drawn one and lost one since Vinny Perth was re-appointed as manager in mid-June.
- Dundalk have kept only two clean sheets in 12 home games so far this season.
- Both teams have scored in Levadia Tallin’s last three European away trips (Drawn 2, Lost 1).
Tallinn test for rejuvenated Dundalk
Dundalk have got their act together in a big way since Vinny Perth was sensationally brought back to the dugout last month, winning five of his seven games in charge.
The club celebrated their biggest ever European win when trouncing Newtown in the first-leg of the previous round but will find Estonians Levadia Tallinn a much tougher proposition on Thursday.
Levadia are currently top of their domestic standings with 43 points from a possible 51 and have lost only twice all season – with both defeats coming at home.
The white-greens play a powerful brand of attacking football (scoring 46 goals in 17 league games), although not everything in defense is to coach Vladimir Vasiliev’s liking.
His side conceded in both legs of their 4-2 aggregate success over Gibraltarian part-timers St Joseph’s in the previous round and are clearly not as strong at the back as they appear going forward.
But with 11 goals in their last four away games, it seems likely they will register in Dublin to give backers a potential return on ‘Both teams to score’ bets.
Dundalk may have kept clean sheets in their last two homes, but they are the only ones in the 12 games they have played at Oriel Park this term.
This first-leg could go either way but we are minded to go with a score draw – and the odds on a 2-2 rather than a 1-1 do look tempting given Levadia are averaging 2.2 away from home this season and Dundalk 2.0 at home since Perth took charge.
