Crucial game in race for fourth

Aberdeen looked on course for third place in the Scottish Premiership after a red-hot start which saw them win ten of their first 11 league games.

However a subsequent 14-game run without success saw them lose ground on those around them and despite a late rally, Hibs have pipped the Dons to third place with a game to go.

Jimmy Thelin’s side could even slip to fifth if they lose this final match of the campaign to Dundee United, who are three points behind them.

The hosts will have to go for it if they want to overtake the Dons but must also be wary that they are not overtaken by St Mirren if the Buddies get a result at Celtic.

The Tangerines have struggled since the split however, losing four games in a row and conceding 13 goals in the process. 

Visitors fancied

Aberdeen may have suffered heavy losses at the hands of Rangers and Celtic in their last two matches but they have generally been strong against the teams at their level and they are fancied to win this one.

The Dons have won three of the last five league head-to-heads and can extend that run.

Three of the last five meetings between these two have finished 1-0 and with the pair both struggling in front of goal recently, a repeat is fancied in the Dons’ favour.
