There were only a few shocks on the first weekend of Scottish League Cup action but Dundee United were the victims of one as they fell 2-0 on the road to Falkirk.

They return to play in front of their home fans with an easier assignment against League One side Stenhousemuir.

The visitors topped League Two last season, finishing eight points ahead of Peterhead, and they got their League Cup campaign off to a solid start by beating Buckie Thistle 4-0 in their opener.
