Tip Reasoning

  • Dundee have kept clean sheets in three of their last four home League Cup ties and won their most recent one by a score of 3-0.
  • Brora Rangers lost 3-0 to League One Montrose on Saturday
  • Brora Rangers have conceded three goals in each of their last three League Cup away ties.

Dens Park destruction awaits Cattachs

Dundee will look to continue their proud tradition in the League Cup on Tuesday when they meet Brora Rangers at Dens Park.

The last major trophy the club lifted back in 1973/74, Dundee have been finalists twice since then and made the last four on three occasions.

The Dark Blues faced Highland League Brora in last season’s competition, winning 2-0 on the road, and will be confident of victory when they host the rematch.

James McPake’s side can take plenty of positives from a 2-2 pre-season draw with West Ham at the weekend, although there will be a few changes to his line-up in midweek.

Brora won’t relish the long trip to Dens Park, having suffered four defeats in their last six away matches against SPFL opposition.

The Cattachs had only 14 players in their squad for Saturday’s 3-0 loss at Montrose and hadn’t managed to get any friendlies played due to Covid.

The Highland Leaguers tend to concede plenty in games like these, shipping three in each of their last three away League Cup trips.

That’s why we are taking the hosts to win comfortably on Tuesday and backing Dundee to score at least three goals on the night.

A correct score play of 3-0 to the hosts appeals because Brora cannot be trusted to register on the road as recent efforts have shown.
