Dundee United vs Livingston Predictions

  • Dundee head into this clash on cloud nine after a historic European win.
  • Dundee failed to win in six of their last seven competitive home games.
  • Livingston remained unbeaten in all three league H2Hs last season.

Dundee may dawdle with Europe on their minds

After defeating AZ Alkmaar in the first leg of their first European endeavour in a decade last time out, this league clash perhaps matters for little in the grand scheme of their season given that they are set to defend a 1-0 lead in the Netherlands next week.

The hosts will hope to keep the winning momentum alive against a side that they finished above last term, yet even so, Dundee couldn’t get the better of bottom-half Livingston in three league H2Hs last term, suggesting that the underdogs could have some bite.

Strong travelling Livingston may be tough

Although Livingston were ultimately defeated 2-1 by Rangers having taken a lead in their season opener, they will be looking to take advantage of a potentially rotated Dundee United outfit in search of their first three points of the campaign.

Also providing cause for Livingston optimism is their current four-game unbeaten run in competitive away games (W3, D1), that’s not to mention the fact that manager David Martindale is unbeaten in four of his five personal clashes with the Dundonians (W3, D1, L1)!

We predict that Livingston will get at least a point from this fixture, so we’re sticking with them in the double chance market. As for the correct score, this could end up being a tight 1-0 away win.
