Eintracht Frankfurt to Win

Reason for tip

Following their disappointing Europa League exit against Tottenham, Frankfurt will now be fully focused on making the Champions League places in the Bundesliga and they can win their next contest against Leipzig, who were poor in their draw with basement side Holstein Kiel last time out.

Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in each of Leipzig’s last four games and that could again be the case in this one with the Red Bulls able to notch in defeat. With that in mind, back a 2-1 win for Frankfurt.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs RB Leipzig Predictions

  • Only Bayern Munich (38) and Bayer Leverkusen (31) have picked up more points at home in the Bundesliga than Eintracht Frankfurt (30)
  • Eintracht Frankfurt have won three of their last five league games
  • Both teams have scored in each of Leipzig’s last four contests

Frankfurt focused on Champions League pursuit

Defeat at the hands of Tottenham in the quarter-finals of the Europa League means Eintracht Frankfurt’s focus in the coming weeks will be firmly on making the Champions League places in the Bundesliga.

With just four games to go they are in a strong position in third and they can widen the gap between them and fourth-placed Leipzig to six points with victory over the Red Bulls on Saturday.

Frankfurt could not find a way past a resolute Augsburg in a 0-0 draw on Sunday, although that has been the case for a lot of Bundesliga clubs visiting Bavaria this year and they have won back-to-back home games against Stuttgart and Heidenheim.

Indeed, nine of Frankfurt’s 15 league victories this season have come on their own patch, whereas Leipzig have a mixed bag of results on the road, winning five, drawing five and losing five of their 15 assignments.

Leipzig underwhelm against struggling Kiel

Interim head coach Zsolt Low is tasked with leading Leipzig to a top-four berth this season but they underwhelmed at home to basement boys Holstein Kiel last time out, snatching a point thanks to Benjamin Sesko’s second-half penalty.

Kiel had 14 shots in that match and disrupted Leipzig’s rearguard, so Frankfurt should be feeling confident about this clash at Deutsche Bank Park.

Back a Frankfurt win, while 2-1 to the host appeals in the correct-score market.
