Faroe Islands vs Scotland Predictions

  • Scotland have won their last three qualifiers, keeping clean sheets in two.
  • The Tartan Army have won the last five meetings, keeping clean sheets in three including March’s 4-0 success at Hampden Park.
  • Faroe Islands have lost and failed to score in three of their last four qualifiers.

Tartan Army on a roll

Scott McTominay’s late winner against Israel on Saturday cemented second position for Scotland in Group F and The Tartan Army can all but guarantee their Play-Off berth with victory against the Faroe Islands this week.

Scotland’s dramatic success at the weekend sees them four points clear of the rest of the group with just three games left to play, meaning a win against the Faroes here and victory over Moldova next month will send Steve Clarke’s side through to the Play-Off phase regardless of their result against runaway leaders Denmark on Matchday 10.

The Tartan Army rarely do things the easy way, though we simply can’t foresee them slipping up in Torshavn this Tuesday against a Faroes outfit who they smashed 4-0 at Hampden Park back in March.

No slip up for Scotland in Torshavn

Indeed, Scotland have won the last five meetings with their opponents, keeping clean sheets in four, and we’re recommending another win to nil for them in this tie.

Clarke’s charges have won their last three qualifiers, keeping clean sheets in two, and they take on a very limited team here who have lost three of their last four starts without scoring.

The Faroes aren’t complete no-hopers in their own backyard and can be tough to break down, with the Danes only managing to nab victory by a single goal at this venue in the last international break.

As such, correct score selections are probably narrowed down to one or two goal margins with the hosts conceding ten in their last six outings here, so we’re opting for a 2-0 triumph in favour of The Tartan Army.
