Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Ferencvaros have only failed to score in one of their 19 home games this season, while both teams have netted in their last four outings at Groupama Arena. Bayer Leverkusen on the other hand haven’t kept a clean sheet in 14 away fixtures, nine of which have seen both teams score

Bayer Leverkusen 2-1

Reason for tip

Ferencvaros lost 2-1 to Puskas at the weekend, meaning they have scored exactly once in three of their last five games, but conceded exactly twice in successive games. Leverkusen meanwhile have netted at least twice in six of their last seven matches

Ferencvarosi TC vs Bayer Leverkusen Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in four successive Ferencvaros home games
  • Bayer Leverkusen have seen both teams net in seven of their last eight fixtures
  • Bayer are unbeaten in five away fixtures

Can Ferencvaros hit back?

Ferencvaros have never reached the quarter-finals of a European competition, and their hopes of progressing to the Europa League last eight were dealt a huge blow by last week’s 2-0 defeat to Leverkusen.

That, though, was only the third time in 12 outings that the Hungarian outfit have failed to score, with eight of those games seeing both teams score.

Stanislav Cherchesov’s side are particularly potent on home soil, where they have netted in 18 of 19 matches this season, although clean sheets have been hard to come by too, managing just one in the last nine.

Leverkusen have one foot in the quarters

Bayer Leverkusen are another team who could do with tightening up their defence, given they haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last 14 away fixtures!

Nine of those matches have seen both teams score, including each of the last four, two of which the German outfit have managed to win 3-2!

Xabi Alonso’s side do head to Hungary in good touch though, as they are unbeaten in five matches, winning the last three.

I predict that both teams will score in this fixture, but think Leverkusen will get the win, with 2-1 to the visitors my correct score prediction.
