FK Qarabag to Win and Under 3.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Qarabag are 3-0 up from the first leg in Drumcondra and do not need to win, but they should be more than a match for a spirited Shelbourne side.  The Reds have failed to win any of their last four European away matches and rarely score more than once, although they have also not lost by more than three goals since their opening tie in 1962-63.

FK Qarabag 2-1

Reason for tip

Shelbourne have scored in two of their last three European trips and given the improvement they showed when having a go against Qarabag in the second half at Tolka Park, they can register in a probable narrow defeat.

FK Qarabag vs Shelbourne Predictions

  • Qarabag lead 3-0 from the first leg in Drumcondra
  • Shelbourne have failed to win any of their last four European away matches
  • Shelbourne have scored in two of their last three European trips

Reds out to ruffle some feathers in Baku

Shelbourne will not want to go out of Europe with a whimper on Wednesday when they travel to Azerbaijan already 3-0 down to Qarabag from the first leg.

Shelbourne boss Joey O’Brien took heart from his side’s second-half display at Tolka Park and has warned that his side will not surrender their Champions League dream easily. The Reds have scored in two of their last three European road trips and could ruffle a few feathers in Baku.

But Qarabag’s quality should eventually come through again. They had too much pace and precision up front in the first leg with classy operators Pedro Bicalho and Leandro Andrade doing some of the damage.

Qarabag can win again in closer affair

Back Qarabag to win with fewer than four goals in the game. Shelbourne have lost two of their last four European away games 3-0, but are rarely beaten any more convincingly than that.

The Azerbeijanis have lost their last six home games in European competition, albit against tougher opponents than Shelbourne. They did manage a 2-1 win at Bodo/Glimt in last year’s Europa League and a repeat scoreline could be in prospect here.
