France came from behind with a thrilling attacking display against Australia but they are in for a much tougher test when they face Denmark on Saturday.

Les Bleus were stunned by an Australia goal just nine minutes in but came back with a vengeance to win 4-1, although the quality on show from the Australian defence left a lot to be desired and the loss of yet another first-team player in Lucas Hernandez will be a concern for Didier Deschamps.

Denmark to improve against France

Denmark, after thriving on their underdog status in Euro 2020, struggled to find a way through a resilient Tunisia defence in their opener but they should be able to find more space to operate against an attack-minded France side.

Kasper Hjulmand’s side have lost just two of their last eight matches – both against Croatia – and have beaten world champions France twice in the last six months.

Denmark’s goalless draw against Tunisia was just the third time they have failed to score since the opening match of Euro 2020 and they come up against a France side that have conceded in six of their last seven games, although keeping Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud quiet at the other end could prove difficult. France have failed to win their last three matches against Denmark and were troubled by Australia at times on Tuesday. I think the Danes can get a shock win on Saturday and a repeat of their 2-1 win in Paris earlier this year is a solid correct score prediction.

Christian Eriksen stands out in the anytime goalscorer market. The Manchester United midfielder has scored in three of his last six starts for his country and was Denmark’s best player against Tunisia.
