France vs Sweden Predictions

  • France have won 11 of their last 14 internationals (D2, L1), including four wins from five in this seasons Nations League (D1).
  • France were unbeaten in 21 home games prior to their friendly defeat to Finland last week, winning 17.
  • Sweden have lost their last three away internationals.
  • France triumphed 0-1 in September’s reverse fixture.

France to Get the Job Done in Paris

France recovered from last week’s friendly blip against Finland to beat Portugal on Saturday evening, and Les Bleus should comfortably seal top spot in League A-3 this Tuesday when they entertain Sweden.

Didier Deschamps tinkered line-up threw in an awful display here last Wednesday as Finland posted a shock 0-2 victory, a result which ended a 21-match unbeaten streak for Les Bleus at home (W17, D4).

But the French were back on song when they returned to Nations League action with a full complement on Saturday night, as N’Golo Kante’s second half strike clinched all three points against Portugal in Lisbon.

France now need just a point from their remaining fixture to ensure their qualification for next year’s finals and they should take care of Sweden once again after beating Janne Andersson’s side 0-1 in September’s reverse clash.

Les Bleus have won four and drawn one of their five Nations League matches, so it’s hard to envisage Sweden causing too many problems considering the Scandinavians have lost their last three away internationals and four of their five outings in this competition.

With France expected to ease their way through this encounter, we’re also forecasting a 2-0 score-line. The hosts have scored at least twice in 11 of their last 15 home matches and have kept three clean sheets in their five Nations League matches. Sweden, meanwhile, have failed to score and have shipped at least twice in three of their League A-3 fixtures.
