      Fulham To Win To Nil

      Reason for tip

Fulham are unbeaten at home this season, winning their last three at Craven Cottage and conceding just twice on their own patch.  That is an impressive record they can extend when League Two Cambridge head to west London, with the visitors lacking in consistency on the road.

      Fulham 2-0

      Reason for tip

Fulham should make their Premier League quality count in this game and can record a comfortable win to nil.  They don’t concede many on their own patch but with no need to go for the jugular, they may be happy to settle for a two-goal margin of victory.

      Fulham vs Cambridge United Predictions

      • Fulham are unbeaten at home this season, winning their last three at Craven Cottage
      • The Cottagers have conceded just two goals across their four home matches
      • Cambridge have not made it beyond the EFL Cup third round since the 1992-93 season

      Cottagers building momentum

Fulham have been impressive on home soil this season, with Saturday’s 3-1 success over Brentford meaning they have registered three wins and a draw from their four matches at Craven Cottage across all competitions.

Marco Silva’s side have also conceded just twice on their own patch, keeping clean-sheets in wins over Leeds in the Premier League and Bristol City in the previous round of this competition.

A third home win to nil of the season could be on the cards when League Two Cambridge make the trip to west London, with Fulham having triumphed in the last two meetings between the pair without conceding, although those clashes did come nearly 30 years ago.

Inconsistent Cambridge may struggle at the Cottage

Cambridge were relegated to League Two last season after winning just four of their 23 matches on the road and their away form has remained inconsistent this season, as they have picked up just a point from their last two fixtures on their travels.

That does not bode well for Neil Harris’ side as they prepare for this away trip to Premier League opposition, with Cambridge aiming to reach the fourth round of the EFL Cup for the first time since the 1992-93 season.

This looks like a tough ask for the U’s and they may struggle to break down even a potentially much-changed Fulham backline. The Cottagers can win this one with something to spare.
