Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Chelsea have conceded in each of their last six games and they look too open at the back. However, Fulham have seen both teams score in five of their six league games so far – including their last four.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Fulham are unbeaten at home in the league this term, while their home matches have all seen both teams score. The Blues have lost their last three on the road and they’ve appointed a manager who is no stranger to a draw, so back this one to finish 1-1.

Aleksandar Mitrovic To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Mitrovic has scored in four straight Premier League games and he has six league goals for the season. With Chelsea’s defence looking vulnerable back the Serbian for a goal.

Potter arrives in West London

Chelsea moved fast to replace Thomas Tuchel this week, replacing the German with Graham Potter within 36 hours. While much has been made about this being business as usual at Stamford Bridge, Todd Boehly has made it clear that he wants continuity.

Potter has been handed a five-year contract as a sign of the faith they have in him. However, his first action in West London will be at Craven Cottage, as the Blues head to local rivals Fulham in Saturday’s early game.

Cottagers can cause trouble

Fulham have lost twice so far this season, suffering narrow defeats at Arsenal and Tottenham. They are enjoying a great start under Marco Silva, winning their last two games at home – the last of which was a 2-1 victory over Potter’s Brighton.

The Cottagers are getting the most out of Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has scored six goals in Fulham’s opening six Premier League matches this season. The Serbian has netted in the last four in a row, so back him to cause trouble for a Chelsea defence which looks vulnerable.

New man has work to do

While the visitors have the lift of a new boss, there’s hardly time for him to set about fixing the issues the Blues have. They’ve conceded in six straight games and they’ve lost three straight away matches.

Fulham have seen both teams score in five of their six Premier League games this term, including each of the last four and all three at home. While Potter isn’t likely to fix the cracks in the Chelsea defence he should give his side a bit more freedom than they had under Tuchel. Given that, I’m backing both teams to score as my main selection.

Chelsea have lost just one of their 30 Premier League games against Fulham (W19 D10). However, the hosts have looked solid since returning to the top flight and Potter gained a reputation as a draw specialist at Brighton, so a 1-1 draw is my correct score prediction.
