Galatasaray vs PAOK Thessaloniki Predictions
- At least four goals have been scored in five of Galatasaray’s last six matches
- At least four goals have been scored in three of PAOK’s last eight away European games
- Galatasaray have won four consecutive games, including Saturday’s big Intercontinental derby against Fenerbahce
- Michy Batshuayi has scored four goals in seven appearances this season but was dropped on Saturday
Galatasaray games are golden for goals
The goals should flow when Galatasaray entertain PAOK in the League stage of the Europa League at RAMS Park on Wednesday. Gala are in red-hot scoring form right now, having smashed 16 goals in their last four games.
Okan Buruk’s men beat rivals Fenerbahce 3-1 on Saturday in the Intercontinental derby as summer signing Victor Osimhen was drafted in for his first start. Although inevitable, it was still a bit harsh on Michay Batshuayi, who was dropped to the bench and did not get on.
The Belgian striker has been one of Gala’s leading lights this season with four goals and two assists in seven matches. He could be recalled for the visit of the Greek side and will no doubt be fired up for the game.
PAOK can play their part in an attractive contest
Like Galatasaray, PAOK are top of their domestic league too and beat Volos 4-1 at the weekend. They play open, attractive football and spread the goals around a number of different players.
At least four goals have been scored in five of Galatasaray’s last six matches and five of PAOK’s last nine, so backing over 3.5 at a good odds-against price looks like a tempting play here. Three of PAOK’s last eight away European games have also gone over 3.5 goals, including Conference League group stage trips to Aberdeen and HJK last season.
Galatasaray have the squad depth to rotate and still win this contest with a 3-1 home victory possible at RAMS Park, where over 3.5 goals landed in all three Champions League group games last season.
