Real Betis to Win and Over 2.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

At least three goals have been scored in three of Genk’s last four matches and in six of Real Betis’ last eight outings. Betis are unbeaten in their last seven matches across all competitions and are taken to win this match in Belgium, where they beat Gent 3-0 earlier this year.

      Real Betis 2-1

      Reason for tip

Genk have kept only one clean sheet in 14 matches this season, against a dysfunctional Rangers side, and may struggle to contain a Betis team that have hit multiple two goals in each of their last seven games. The Spanish outfit have scored exactly two goals in six of those and can secure a 2-1 win at Cegeka Arena.

      Genk vs Real Betis Predictions

      • At least three goals have been scored in three of Genk’s last four matches
      • At least three goals have been scored in six of Real Betis’ last eight outings
      • Betis are unbeaten in their last seven matches across all competitions

Ibrox win was an outlier for Genk

Real Betis travel to Belgium on Thursday aiming to build on their unbeaten Europa League start against a Genk side still searching for consistency.

The hosts opened with a 1-0 win at Ibrox against a dysfunctional Rangers but were then edged out 1-0 by Ferencváros last time out. The Rangers result is a major outlier in their campaign because Genk have not kept another clean sheet in any of their other 13 matches.

They are scoring goals, particularly in domestic company, but may find they need multiple strikes to keep pace with Real Betis. Gank’s 2-2 draw at Cercle Brugge on Sunday highlighted ongoing defensive issues, despite goals from Patrik Hrosovsky and Oh Hyeon-gyu.

Betis can edge out the hosts

Betis, meanwhile, are showing their European pedigree. After a late equaliser earned a 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest, they cruised past Ludogorets 2-0 on Matchday Two. Manuel Pellegrini’s side are unbeaten in seven and have tightened up defensively, conceding just twice in their last four games.

Betis midfield control could prove decisive With Pablo Fornals, Marc Roca and Sofyan Amrabat anchoring midfield, Betis should dominate possession. Cucho Hernández leads the line with four goals this season, supported by Antony and Abde Ezzalzouli.

Genk’s attacking duo of Oh and Sor offer enough of a threat to ensure this game features three or more goals, but Betis’ balance and experience give them the edge.
