Georgia Over 1.5 Team Goals

Reason for tip

Georgia have scored at least two goals in three of their last five games. They had their best team out for the three games in which they managed multiple goals. Meanwhile, Bulgaria have conceded two or more goals in their last five internationals.

Georgia 4-0

Reason for tip

Georgia have scored multiple goals in their last three games when Sagnol selected a full-strength side. They scored six against Armenia in Tbilisi in March and another rout could be possible against a Bulgaria side that lost 5-0 to Northern Ireland last October and 4-0 in Greece over the summer.

Georges Mikautadze To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Georges Mikautadze has scored six goals in his last five appearances for Georgia, bagging in four of them to take his international tally to an impressive 20 goals in 38 games.

Crusaders can put Bulgaria to the sword

Georgia should put their first points of World Cup qualifying on the board when they face a defensively vulnerable Bulgaria side in Tbilisi on Sunday.

Willy Sagnol’s side suffered a disappointing 3-2 home defeat to Turkey on Thursday to kick off their campaign. The Crusaders will now probably have to beat the Turks on their travels to stand any chance of qualifying from a four-team group that also includes Spain.

Bulgaria look set to be the whipping boys if their meek display in a 3-0 home loss to the Spanish is all they can muster.

Mikautadze is the man to fear up front

Ilian Iliev’s team are weak at the back and pretty inept up front. They were thrashed 4-0 in a summer friendly by Greece, who arguably have less decisive players in attack than Georgia.

Kvicha Kvaratshkelia slammed in a goal against Turkey as Georgia attempted a late comeback against 10 men, but it was not enough. Either he, or in-form Georges Mikautadze look capable of profiting against a Bulgaria backline that lacks leaders or sufficient concentration levels.

Back Georgia to bag at least two goals, which they have done in each of their last three games when the star players have featured.
