Georgia to Win

Reason for tip

Georgia are on a run of ten wins in 13 matches and remain unbeaten in their last six internationals on home soil. They face a Norway side who have lost three successive competitive fixtures and are missing their talisman Erling Haaland.

Georgia 2-0

Reason for tip

Georgia have conceded just one goal in their last six outings at home, scoring at least twice on four occasions, including two 2-0 wins. Norway meanwhile have conceded at least twice in four of their last six games, and failed to score in three of their last seven outings

Georgia vs Norway Predictions

  • Georgia have won ten of their last 13 internationals
  • Norway are on a run of three competitive defeats
  • Georgia are unbeaten in six home outings since October 2021

Georgia looking to make history

After ten wins in their last 13 outings, a run that has seen them promoted to the second tier of the UEFA Nations League for the first time, Georgian football has never been in such a good place.

Willy Sagnol’s side are certainly putting in some good performances, helped by Napoli talisman Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who has netted in five of his last six internationals.

All of those games ended in victory, bar a 0-0 draw with Bulgaria, while Georgia are also unbeaten in half a dozen outings at home, which bodes well as they attempt to reach a European Championships for the first time.

Norway struggling of late

Georgia will have to make history to win this game though, as they have never beaten Norway in three previous meetings, with the Scandinavians winning each of those games.

Ståle Solbakken’s side have not been in good form of late though, suffering a 3-0 hammering to Spain on Saturday, their third successive competitive defeat.

It is also a concern that Erling Haaland is absent for this clash, as Norway’s win percentage with the striker over the last four years stands at nearly 62%, compared to 22% without him.

I predict that Georgia will win this game, with 2-0 my correct score prediction.
