Scotland vs Georgia Predictions
Georgia won’t be holding out any hope of challenging for the qualification positions of Euro 2016 Group D. They have just three points to their name after their first six games, and are only kept off the bottom of the group by minnows Gibraltar.
These three points came from a win against Gibraltar, who have conceded a mind boggling 34 goals in their six Group D games so far.
Other than that, Georgia have lost every match, although the 1-0 victory for Scotland against them wasn’t entirely convincing.
Scotland have been more efficient than emphatic in their displays so far in this qualification campaign.
All of their three victories have come from 1-0 wins, and the only time they have netted more than twice is in their 6-1 win over Gibraltar.
Of course, a win is a win as the saying goes, but they won’t be winning many awards for entertainment based on their previous matches.
Their only loss of the qualifying period came in the opening match of Group D, when they faced the unenviable task of travelling to Germany to face the World Cup holders. It took until the 70th minute for Thomas Muller to net the winner of the game, which ended 2-1.
This is a positive defensive performance from the Scots, and their displays since then have shown that they are planning to build this push for qualification around defensive stability.
They are currently in 3rd position in Group D, three points behind group leaders Poland and two points adrift of Germany.
The top two teams face off as well on Friday, so whatever the result between those two sides a win for Scotland will put them well in contention for qualification for Euro 2016.
I think Scotland will get the three points on Friday, although it may be another 1-0 win for the Scots. Odds of 1/1 for a Scotland win also look very good value considering Georgia have lost five of their last 6 games.
