Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Spain’s defence has shown some signs of vulnerability of late and they have conceded in four of their last six games away from Spanish soil. Georgia have been picking up results at home and are unbeaten in seven – scoring in six of those games – so both teams to score appeals.

Spain 2-1

Reason for tip

Georgia have been tough to beat at home and can make this a competitive affair. Spain should have the quality to win but it might be a closer affair than the odds suggest and a hard fought 2-1 victory for La Roja appeals here.

Georgia vs Spain Predictions

  • Spain have won just two of their last seven games in normal time.
  • Georgia are unbeaten in their last seven home games and have scored in six of those.
  • Spain have conceded in five of their last eight games.

La Roja head to Tbilisi needing a result

Spain slipped to a surprise defeat to Scotland in their last Euro 2024 qualifier and head to Georgia needing a result.

However, La Roja did manage to win the Nations League – meaning they will at least reach the play-off round irrespective of where they finish in Group A.

Georgia sit one point above La Roja after four points from three games, and they will also secure a play-off spot regardless of their qualification performance due to their Nations League exploits after winning promotion from Group C.

Finding the value in Georgia vs Spain

Perhaps unsurprisingly Spain are the heavy favourites to win here, but they have only managed two victories in normal time in their last seven games and at such a short price have little appeal.

The handicap markets are one option but at odds-against both teams to score looks interesting.

Spain’s defence has shown some signs of vulnerability of late and they have conceded in four of their last six games away from Spanish soil, including last year’s World Cup. Georgia have been picking up results at home as they are unbeaten in seven – scoring in six of those games.

The hosts also have a few talented forwards, most notably Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and former Metz and current Ajax man Georges Mikautadze, so they have the talent to make a dent in this Spanish side.

Youthful Spain can grind out a win

Spain have picked a fairly youthful and inexperienced squad – Alvaro Morata is the only member of the squad with over 45 caps – but they have enough quality to win in Georgia.

The hosts have been tough to beat at home so La Roja may not run away with this game and a 2-1 win for the visitors is the correct score prediction.

Dani Olmo has enjoyed a fantastic start to the season with five goals in four games, as well as one assist, for RB Leipzig. The 25-year-old looks a good candidate for an anytime goal as he seeks to add to his six international goals for Spain.
