Spain Women and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Spain were frustrated by Switzerland in the quarter-finals, but they were dominant throughout and eventually picked up their ninth successive win. They face a Germany side that lost 4-1 to Sweden in the group stages and were taken to penalties by France last time out, but Die Nationalelf have scored in 15 consecutive games and La Roja have only kept two clean sheets in their nine-game winning run.

Spain Women 2-1

Reason for tip

Germany have scored exactly one goal in their last two games and should keep things relatively tight against Spain, who have scored five goals in two knockout round games.

Germany Women vs Spain Women Predictions

  • Spain have won their last nine games, conceding in seven of them.
  • Germany haven’t failed to score in any of their last 15 fixtures.
  • Esther Gonzalez has scored seven goals in her last seven appearances for club and country.

Die Nationalelf’s luck to run out in Zurich

Despite going a goal down and having a player sent off inside the first 15 minutes, Germany managed to pull off a penalty shootout win over France in the quarter-finals, but their Euro 2025 run could come to an end against world champions Spain on Wednesday.

While impressive, Die Nationalelf were undeniably lucky to make it to penalties, having just two shots on target to France’s nine and ceding 75% of the ball to Les Bleus, with that result coming after a heavy defeat to Sweden in the group stages.

Gonzalez can return to the scoresheet

La Roja did have some trouble breaking down a stubborn Switzerland in the quarter-finals, though, with the host nation holding the favourites at bay until the final 25 minutes before conceding twice in quick succession.

That is not to say Spain weren’t dominant, though. They generated 3.71 expected goals and denied Switzerland a single shot on target en route to their ninth successive win, and they should be able to breeze past Germany on Wednesday.

Montse Toma’s side have conceded in seven of these nine wins, though, and Germany haven’t failed to score in any of their last 15 games, so backing Spain to win and both teams to score appeals. Germany should keep it relatively tight, though, so a 2-1 correct score prediction is also worth a small punt.

Esther Gonzalez failed to score from any of her four attempts against Switzerland, but she still has four goals in Euro 2025 and has notched seven times in her last seven games for club and country.
