Getafe vs Valladolid Predictions
- Getafe have failed to win six of their seven home league games this season
- The hosts have failed to register in three of those games and managed to score more than once in only one
- Valladolid have had a tough run of away games, but did beat Alaves 3-2 on the road last month
Battle of bottom four clubs
Real Valladolid may be able to avoid defeat against an out-of-sorts Getafe side in a battle of bottom-four clubs at Estadio Coliseum on Sunday. Both teams need to get back to winning ways after disappointing results with Getafe suffering back-to-back 1-0 losses to Celta Vigo and Girona before the international break.
Valladolid would probably have settled for a point at home to Athletic Bilbao before kick-off, but the manner in which they conceded a stoppage-time equaliser probably meant that the 1-1 draw felt like another defeat.
Pucelanos have lost five of their six away assignments this season, including a 3-0 defeat at Real Madrid and a 7-0 hammering in Barcelona.
Pucelanos will present a problem for Getafe
But three of those losses were to top-five clubs and there is a major difference between going to face the big two on the road and a clash against Getafe on a Friday night in November.
If Paulo Pezzolano’s side begin well and quieten the crowd, there is no reason why they cannot win in the Madrid suburbs. Getafe have failed to win six of their seven home league games this season and been shut out in three of those contests.
Scoring has been a problem for Jose Bordelas’ side, who are currently without last season’s 12-goal top scorer Borja Mayoral through injury. Back the visitors to frustrate their hosts for long enough to come away with at least a point.
