      Tip Reasoning

Granada very narrowly avoided relegation last term but only bottom club Cordoba won fewer games than their disappointing return of just 7. A home game with Eibar presented them with the ideal chance to get this campaign off to a winning start but they were beaten 3-1 by the only side who finished below them last year to still be in the division.

They bounced back well though with an away win of their own at Getafe last weekend and although clearly they are one of the favourites for the drop, the Andalucian side have something to build on. Under José Ramón Sandoval they have picked up 13 points from 6 league matches, which is an impressive return.

They have been much more positive since the arrival of Sandoval and it has certainly paid dividends in terms of goals and points. They’ve scored in 5 of their 6 matches under him and there have been goals at both ends, in each of their games so far this season.

The same can be said of Villarreal who drew 1-1 at Real Betis on the opening day before coming from behind to beat Espanyol 3-1 before the international break. The visitors are always a positive side and will approach this game with high hopes of winning it.

Granada also seem to have learnt from the lessons of last year when they drew more games than any other side in the division and will chase the 3 points here so an open game is likely and backing both teams to score at Evens looks like a good bet.

In terms of the result, you have to fancy the visitors to just nick it. Despite the odd defensive lapse, they’ve looked pretty good throughout pre-season and in the first two games and their new signings have bedded in well. They are available at 17/2 to secure all the points here with a 2-1 win.
