Hartlepool vs Forest Green Rovers Predictions

Green set to enhance great away record  

Eight days since Hartlepool saw their unbeaten home record ended by a stoppage-time Newport County winner, Antony Sweeney’s side welcome League Two leaders Forest Green Rovers to Victoria Park.

The Green are unbeaten in eight away league games this season, winning five and drawing three, and boast the best defensive record in the division on their travels.

Rob Edwards’ side were forced to settle for 1-1 draws in their last two trips outside Gloucestershire, but came up against two sides unaccustomed to losing at home in Leyton Orient and Bradford.

Pools were lucky to win in cup  

The same could still be said of Hartlepool, although they have now lost back-to-back games with seven goals conceded and we feel will be picked off again by a stronger team. Pools rode their luck when beating League One Wycombe Wanderers in the FA Cup last week with the Chairboys squandering several chances to level in the second half.

That luck may not hold for Saturday’s game against the table-toppers and we are inclined to support the visitors at the short odds-against price they command.

Forest Green have hit 15 away goals this term at just under two per game, but given Hartlepool’s recent defensive struggles, we think there could be a couple here in a 2-1 success.
