Helmond Sport vs PSV Reserves Predictions
Bottom club Helmond Sport surprisingly earned a draw in Eindhoven when these sides met back in August, but Jong PSV are expected to set matters straight in this Friday’s clash at Lavans Stadion. Dennis Haar’s men are now 5th in the Eerste Divisie standings after a slow start to the campaign, and their recent form on the road is excellent, with five wins and three draws posted from their last eight away matches. With the hosts on a losing run of six, the visitors look like banker material for punters here on match day 27.
Jong PSV were denied a 13th win of the season deep into stoppage time last week as 6th placed Roda JC burgled a 2-2 draw at De Herdgang, but that result is unlikely to dent the confidence of Dennis Haar’s men too much.
They played well overall following a far from disgraceful 0-2 loss to runaway leaders Twente on match day 25, and they’ll be looking forward to heading off on their travels again this week, after a run of five wins and three draws on the road since losing 2-1 at Twente back in September.
It’s highly unlikely that bottom side Helmond Sport will break Jong’s impressive unbeaten away run, however the visitors won’t take them lightly, having shared the spoils 1-1 when the teams met in Eindhoven at the start of the campaign.
Sport did record a tremendous 3-0 home success over 2nd placed Sparta Rotterdam at the end of November, but that freak result is just about all that Helmond have had to celebrate at Lavans Stadion this term.
They managed to overcome second bottom Jong Utrecht 2-0 in the final game before the Christmas break, but Rob Alflen’s side have otherwise drawn three and lost eight in front of their own supporters.
Sport have been turned over by 17th placed Dordrecht (1-2) and 18th placed Jong AZ (1-3) in the last month which is pretty dismal form, and they head into Friday’s contest on a losing run of six overall.
Its eye catching then that Jong have been priced up at just under evens for this contest, and we’re recommending a three point stake on Dennis Haar’s charges to do the business.
We wouldn’t deter backers from playing on the handicap market here considering the amount of goals that Jong have smashed in so far this season (58 and counting), but the odds on offer in the match betting are rewarding enough for what appears to be a pretty certain outcome.
With confidence in the visitors high, we want to take a bit of an audacious poke for smaller stakes in the correct score market, and 1-4 is our choice at a juicy price.
